Evaluations

Each employee was evaluated using a Growth, Plan and Support outline (GPS). These evaluations were productive and helped me know which items could use more training and which items we were being successful in. The employee and I reviewed how that employee had grown, what qualities they had that weren't currently being utilized and how I, as a supervisor, would support their progress. This gave us direction in our one-on-ones and gave a platform for communication.

Surveys

Six weeks into our initial startup the I sent a survey to the students to get their perspective on the changes taking place.

Student Review

Below is a review written by a departing student in the early stages of developing this program. Her review inspired continuing changes with our training program and has allowed our students who stayed this summer to participate in a training committee where we develop a training program for new hires.

Bonding over Bacon

Part of our training efforts involved a group training retreat on a Saturday morning entitled "Bonding over Bacon. Each student presented on a topic or lead a team building activity.
